Perimenopause is the transitional phase before menopause, where a woman’s body starts to undergo hormonal changes leading to the end of her reproductive years. During this time, levels of hormones fluctuate, causing irregular menstrual cycles and other symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances – there are more than 50 identified symptoms that affect every system in our body!! This phase typically begins in a woman’s 40s but can start earlier and usually lasts for several years. Perimenopause and the early menopause years can be stressful. How your body responds to stress, exercise and nutrition can change – seemingly overnight. it’s nice to meet you.

If you live here in Canberra, Australia you might already know me – I’ve been around a while 😊, but if not, I’d love to introduce myself.

Like all of us (especially at this age!) there’s a lot to say to share my story but I’ll try to stick to the bits that are relevant.

I am a wife and mother to 3 kids (*cough*… adults).

I am a Mental health counsellor, focused on women.  I have an interest in the 3 P’s – Puberty, Perinatal and Perimenopause – significant transitional times in women’s lives that I feel are undervalued, under resourced and often incredibly challenging.  

I started Raging Gracefully specifically to provide Counselling, Coaching and Wellbeing support to those in the Perimenopause/Menopause transition.
